e107

Post by Imp666 »

I have used other ftp sites in the past but this one is giving me a little trouble.
I'm hosting a premade e107 site, used Dreamweaver to upload it to the server.

Using the subdomain it links me to the ftp site but doesn't show any files but the file manger shows my directories

The index.php and install.php files aren't showing up but i know they are installed

any thoughts?

I haven't heard of clients seeing that problem before, but it could be firewall-related. Are you using SFTP, through a client like WinSCP?

If you're not seeing the files through the webpage, then that means that you have the domain pointing to a different directory than they are uploaded to. You can fix this by either moving them to the directory it currently points to (by default, "public"), or adjusting it to point to the directory with the files through the "Domains" page.

okay im confused i uploaded it directly to the host. so when gob.site.nfoservers.com is used it should go to the index.php but it doesnt. the control panel doesnt even show that index.php is uploaded when it is

I'd recommend pointing it to a subdirectory instead, in case you want to add another subdomain later (in order to keep them from overlapping), and to prevent anyone from viewing your access_log or error_log. But, you can point it at your root folder if you wish, by setting its directory to "." on the Domains page. (We also talk about this in the hover help there.)
