new registered users posting

Post by maverick03191989 »

Hi,

I have my phpbb forum (http://xf2.site.nfoservers.com/) and I want my new registered members to be able to post anything without the need of approval just like my regular members. I have tried everything i know, but I'm missing something.

Thanks!

So have you tried:

going to your Admin Control Panel > Permissions > Group forum permissions

Selecting Newly Registered Users
Select the forum(s) you wish them to be able to post w/o approval in and hit submit.
Click Advanced Permissions
Go to the Misc Tab
Change "Can Post Without Approval" to Yes and click Apply permissions.

That should do it but remember it is a forum by forum permission. If you want all the forums to be set up that way, you'll have to change that setting for each.

Yes, I even tried again as you said, but I get this message:

The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.

Hmm that is weird. It should work if you can get past that error.

All I can suggest is clearing your cache or updating/refreshing your board style. I am no expert by any means but I do go to phpbb.com for support when I can't figure something out. Here is an excerpt from a post I found there:
Two things to check:
Admin Control Panel (ACP > General tab > Load settings > Session length
If that is too short and the session expires when you are in the ACP when you try to submit a form you will get the error.

ACP > General tab > Security settings > Maximum time to submit forms
Again, if it is too short you will get the error.
