PunkBuster settings and screenshots

Punkbuster settings

You can set PunkBuster settings in the game through our rcon tool using "punkBuster.pb_sv_command", followed by the full command to PB in quotes. For instance:

Code: Select all

punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_ver"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_update"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_autoss 1"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_task 15 100 pb_sv_ver"
punkBuster.pb_sv_command "pb_sv_writecfg"

You can set up PB commands to execute when PB is loaded by creating/editing the "pb/pbsv.cfg" file through your "File manager" control panel page. Either start with a blank file using the "Create a new file" option, or use the punkBuster.pb_sv_command pb_sv_writecfg command through Rcon to create a base "pb/pbsv.cfg" file for you, then edit it.

If you'd like to use pbucon, you can create its authorization file via the "File manager" page, as well:

1. Click "Create a new file"
2. Enter "pb/pbucon.use" into the "Save file as:" field at the top of the form
3. Click "Save"

pbucon is needed by external tools that run exclusively through PB, such as PBBans. For specific help on how to set up PBBans, http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =50&t=4345

Right now, PB is broken a bit on the client and it won't take screen shots for most users (all but a few clients return errors). If you wish, you can still try them out; you can view the screen shots through our control panel's "File manager" page, using the "Download" option to grab individual .png files (which are put in "pb/svss"), or use the Websync page to sync them to webhosting here. Old screen shots will be automatically deleted from the game server (but not the webhosting) after 14 days.

As with all games, please note that using PB screenshots will cause lag for clients. You should avoid doing them automatically, and instead only use screenshots for suspicious players.
