Adding a server to my managed VDS!

Post by BrendanG »

Step 1:

You'll first need to order a managed VDS in the location of your choosing and allow it time to install. Generally this takes 30 minutes. If you haven't done this, please head over to our VDS order page and order a managed VDS.

Step 2:

After the VDS is set up and ready (with the progress bar gone and showing as running on the "Server control" page), you can add a game server to it through our order page. Head over to our standard game server rental page and select the type of server you'd like to add.

Please be aware that certain games have specific OS requirements and others have an additional fee. Our standard game server pricing will also show on the order page, but will be removed when you proceed to the order confirmation page.

Step 3:

This is a very important step to make sure that you don't accidentally pay for your server. Select "This is a new server". Where it says "Add this to a managed machine/VDS?", select "Yes -- Virtual Server your id here". If you select "No -- create it separately", the system will think you want a regular shared server and will ask for payment.

Step 4:

You are now ready to proceed to the order confirmation page. At this point one of two things will happen. You will likely be greeted by this page first..

This 100% normal and just means that your managed machine does not have the base files installed. Go ahead and press the "Install base files" button now. Depending on the type of game you chose the install should take anywhere from 10-30 minutes(you can track its progress via the "Game installs" page in your NFO control panel.

Once the base files have been installed you will need to re-order your server from our order page(step 2).

Now that the base files have been added and you've re-ordered your server. The confirmation page should look like this.
step522.png
Go ahead and press the "Activate your server package and create server(s) immediately" button.

Congratulations! You've ordered your first server and it is now being created. Depending on the type of game you ordered the setup should take 10-30 minutes.
