Crysis

Post by Edge100x »

Crysis has been released! We determined that it was compatible with our systems and rolled it out, then opened up our Order page to signups for this game. We also put up a few test servers, at the following IPs:

cryla.nuclearfallout.net (64.94.101.224) -- Los Angeles (Premium)
crychi.nuclearfallout.net (216.52.148.127) -- Chicago (InterNAP)
crydal.nuclearfallout.net (66.150.214.139) -- Dallas (InterNAP)
crysea.nuclearfallout.net (66.150.164.236) -- Seattle (InterNAP)

Very few other providers are offering this game right now. Order a server now to get in on the action early and start building up a player base!

One odd thing is that some other hosts are still taking pre-orders, and on "Ranked" servers. This is wrong in two major ways:

1. The game is out and pre-orders have been rendered obsolete.
2. Crysis does not have a persistent ranking system.

Any word on whether you'll be supporting Dx10 or Dx9 servers?

Any plans for packaged deals? ; )
Or, any plans for long-time (nearly a year+) customers? :P

We don't run on Vista so our servers will likely be just DX9, unless there's a configuration flag to change it (as there easily could be -- I can't easily check that since I don't run Vista either).

The Ventrilo package deals will be available; we don't have others planned at this time.

We've gotten a couple of questions about whether our servers can be ranked. The answer is that yes, all Crysis servers can be run with either ranked or unranked status. By default our servers come ranked but this can also be disabled through the server's server.cfg file.

Crysis has no GSP partner program as BF2, BF2142, and QuakeWars do, restricting who can and cannot run ranked servers. Instead, the game creators chose to use an encrypted executable and allow all server hosts to run ranked servers.
