HL1 update woes

Post by Edge100x »

Valve released an update to the HL1 dedicated server (and thus to Counter-strike 1.6, Day of Defeat, Condition Zero, and Team Fortress Classic) last night that we are still dealing with the fallout from.

Mostly, the issues we are seeing now are that any server with "Advertise this server" not checked in the control panel does not show up in queries, even when it's online and working properly; that all servers use a massive amount of CPU power and as a result their performance has dropped across the board (this is especially noticeable with ultraaccelerated servers); that servers crash when any "exec" line is in the autoexec.cfg file; that there are server crashes in general, along with forced client disconnects; and that HLTVs have various problems.

We are working with Valve to try to get these concerns addressed as soon as possible. These are affecting all servers, everywhere, right now (at all providers).

UPDATE: Valve has fixed the most important issues now.
