Price drop on VDSes
We've dropped down the prices a bit on our VDSes, lowering prices by 10% for our 2-core, 3-core, and 4-core models. Our 6-core and 8-core configurations have also gone down in price, and we have officially added an SSD disk space option to the order page.
Both new and existing customers can take advantage of these price breaks through the VPS/VDS order page; if you currently rent a VDS and pay a higher price, we recommend refinancing now to lock in the new number.
To keep managed VDSes affordable for us, we have changed these to require a 3-HT-core configuration at minimum.

Re: Price drop on VDSes
Awesome! Quick question: If we just want to lock in the new price without altering the VDS configuration does the VDS go down while the price change is processed? I started the process and noticed this on the confirmation page:
The remaining in-place verbage makes it sound like it won't go down, but then it's followed up with verbage about a couple minutes of downtime. Just want to get clarification before I switch over to the new rate. You will be changing "xxx" (a virtual server):
(No changes made)
If triggered immediately, your changes can be performed with the VDS remaining in-place, requiring only a couple of minutes of downtime.
Re: Price drop on VDSes
If you aren't changing anything about the VDS (except for the price), then you will not have to experience any downtime. The subscription will be updated while the VDS continues to run.
Re: Price drop on VDSes
Thanks John. Changed the price without any downtime as you said. Are these new prices temporary?
Re: Price drop on VDSes
These new prices should not be going back up. They may go down again at some point, since that's a general trend, but it will be a bit .

Thanks for the awesome B-day present!
B-Day is on the 20th of March, this happened just an hour before.

Unable to use this on our BF3 server.
We have our BF3 server on a 2-core VDS, but you no longer allow managed 2-core VDS, so I can't apply any changes from the order page.

Pain, it should let you do it. The requirement applies to new orders.

Re: Price drop on VDSes
Doesn't - as soon as I select 2 core, managed option is unavailable.

Re: Price drop on VDSes
Pain, you have to remember that it doesn't matter whether you select managed or unmanaged on the order page during a change order, because the OS selection is ignored when you submit a change order request.

Re: Price drop on VDSes
Not sure if I understand.
If I apply a change to my existing server and select 2-core, and I am not able to select:
- managed server, only unmanaged available
- BF3 unavailable because unmanaged default
- can't select BF3 slots because BF3 unavailable
On submitting I get error stating I am changing my bf3 slots from 32 to 0.

Ah, I see, it's the BF3 slots being reset that are getting you. That makes sense.

Re: Price drop on VDSes
It's because we could install a bf3 server on a 2-core managed vds before, but you had changed things now so we can only do managed on 3-core and up now.
So you have restricted any changes to anyone with a 2-core managed VDS server now.

I hope this isn't true.
