It won't be an issue if you don't have or use BF3 slots. If you do, then you will be restricted on a 2-core VDS as it currently stands.

So...In order to run a BF3 server on a managed VDS you now are being forced to upgrade to the 3 core package?

You don't need to upgrade if your already running BF3 on a 2-core vds.
Only new orders have to go with 3-core and above.

To take advantage of the lower pricing for existing costumers, John would have to come up with a solution to get past the slot issue.

If that is your specific situation, managed 2-core with no BF3 slots, but want to add BF3 slots, you would need to upgrade to a 3-core VDS as it currently is. I don't know if John has anything planned to change this.

I'm going to also assume this also includes any server's i currently have sent up and game server's i want to add,not just BF3.If that's true then that also means the next time you lower prices on your VDS's,i'm going to have up grade to a 4 core package.

Only BF3 has the per-slot fee on managed VDS servers. If BF3 is not a factor, then you can update to the new pricing since no BF3 slots are needed.

Just to check, since managed isn't available on 2-cores, can you still use this price change if you are already on a managed 2-core? Wondering since we can't select the option, wouldn't it then change you from managed to unmanaged if you tried?

Pain, if you need to select BF3 slots, then you wouldn't be able to refinance to the new pricing without also switching to a 3+ or higher right now, as you noted before.

That's why I am cancelling the server once our period is up.
Server has been lagged and froze off and on as well as weekly player dumps since day one. Haven't seen any benefits to keeping BF3 on a VDS, so it's gone as soon as we can.

You can certainly cancel if you wish. Complaints about random Blaze-instigated player drops and declining overall player numbers have led to many other BF3 customers also moving on to other games recently.

We officially do not recommend running BF3 servers larger than 48 slots on a VDS, but anything up to that will run very well. Player drops mostly happen because of design limitations of the game: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =70&t=6497

I'm glad that you're not cancelling because of the new prices.

Well we never went near 48. We only run 32.

And pricing is also a big part of the reason.
Prices dropped on your gameservers, and we couldn't take part of that deal.
Prices dropped on VDS, and again we can't take part of that either.

You initially offered bf3 on managed vds 2-core systems, and now we are locked in to our pricing until the end of our current period.

Doesn't matter. We will ride it out till that time and drop it.

We have not been receiving other complaints about 32-slot servers, on or off of VDSes.

It's entirely your call on what to do. We have not raised prices, so you are no worse off than before.

NFo provides the best value for the buck.
Prices going down is huge for me and my community.
Means we can do more for less.
No complaints here.
I will probably move from 4 cores to 3 cores soon to open more little more cap.

Next stop offer managed vds web hosting John?
