How do I set up my map cycle?

Battlefield 3 map cycles consist of three parts. Map name, mode and rounds. To properly format your map cycle it should look something like this:

MP_001 RushLarge0 2
MP_018 RushLarge0 4
MP_017 RushLarge0 8

The different stock game types are:

SquadDeathMatch0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
TeamDeathMatchC0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
Domination0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
GunMaster0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
RushLarge0: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quicmatch

Stock Maps:

MP_001 - Grand Bazaar
MP_003 - Teheran Highway
MP_007 - Caspian Border
MP_011 - Seine Crossing
MP_012 - Operation Firestorm
MP_013 - Damavand Peak
MP_017 - Noshahar Canals
MP_018 - Kharg Island
MP_Subway - Operation Metro

Stock maps only support these game types:

SquadRush0: Intended for up to 8 players; 6-10 slots required for quickmatch
SquadDeathMatch0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
TeamDeathMatch0: Intended for up to 24 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
ConquestSmall0: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quickmatch
RushLarge0: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quickmatch
ConquestLarge0: Intended for up to 64 players; 48-64 slots required for quickmatch


Back To Karland(B2K):

XP1_001 - Strike at Karkand
XP1_002 - Gulf of Oman
XP1_003 - Sharqi Peninsula
XP1_004 - Wake Island

B2K maps support these plus the previous game types:

ConquestAssaultSmall0: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quickmatch
ConquestAssaultSmall1: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quickmatch
ConquestAssaultLarge0: Intended for up to 32 players; 48-64 slots required for quickmatch


Close Quarters:

XP2_Factory - Scrapmetal
XP2_Office - Operation 925
XP2_Palace - Donya Fortress
XP2_Skybar - Ziba Tower

Close Quarters maps only support these game types:

TeamDeathMatchC0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
Domination0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
GunMaster0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch
SquadDeathMatch0: Intended for up to 16 players; 12-20 slots required for quickmatch

Armored Kill:

XP3_Desert - Bandar Desert
XP3_Alborz - Alborz Mountains
XP3_Shield - Armored Shield
XP3_Valley - Death Valley


Armored Kill works with all previous gametypes but Tank Superiority only support Armored Kill maps.

Tank Superiority: Intended for up to 24 players; ; 18-30 slots required for quickmatch

Aftermath:

XP4_Quake - Epicenter
XP4_FD - Markaz Monolith
XP4_Parl - Azadi Palace
XP4_Rubble - Talah Market

Aftermath maps only support these game types:

ConquestLarge0: Intended for up to 64 players; 48-64 slots required for quickmatch
ConquestSmall0: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quickmatch
RushLarge0: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quickmatch
SquadRush0: Intended for up to 8 players; 6-10 slots required for quickmatch

Instead of ConquestLarge0 and ConquestSmall0, XP4_Rubble/Talah Market uses:

ConquestAssaultLarge0: Intended for up to 64 players; 48-64 slots required for quickmatch
ConquestAssaultSmall0: Intended for up to 32 players; 24-40 slots required for quickmatch

The cycle can be set through the "Easy setup" page in your control panel, or by editing the "Admin/MapList.txt" file through the "File manager" page in the control panel.

Alternatively you can use our admin daemon's map cycler, which uses a nice user friendly layout, allows you to specify random map order, and properly tracks mapchanges in the game. Check the box on the "Easy setup" page to see its options.
