Just got 1 more spike, but only seems to be a quick 3 sec long spike and then no more.

Is that sort of brief spike common to all servers?

Ok. I have heard some similar complaints from other RSPs about spiking and I think it might be universal, but I'll continue to look into it.

marrr, you might also consider a hybrid between a dedicated machine and a managed VDS, or between a dedicated machine and standalone game servers. BC2 runs well on VDSes.

How many BC2 32-slot servers can the single core VDS handle? 2? Also when will you have the Chicago VDS back in stock?

Actually as I posted this, he left.

Now astro1002 can in and started teleporting the team and blowing them all up.
The server emptied out fast. Only 5 left on the other team against our 28.
Obviously no team balance either.

PB screen shots don't work yet and PB needs some other polishing as well.

marrr, our smallest managed VDS is a 2-core. You should be able to run at least a couple 32-slot servers on one.

So after several days of testing Caspian 64 slot, how does the cpu load compare to what DICE was initially suggesting and how does it compare to RO2.

Also, how did that 64 slot server on VDS perform.

The 64-slot servers used more resources than we originally thought they might (based on what other hosts said), but less than we were most recently told. CPU usage is slightly lower than RO2.

The test server on the 2.26ghz VDS machine handled up to 52 slots or so without problems. More than that was hit-and-miss. VDS-hosting machines with faster individual processor cores would be able to host larger servers.

Edge are you saying, lets say an unshared nahalem E5520 (2.26) cannot run even 1 64 slot?

zulu, yes, that's correct, it cannot do it smoothly at all times. It's unclear how much faster is required to do it smoothly, but my guess would be that our 3.06ghz (X5675) and 3.4ghz (E3-1270) machines can do it.

What about x5650s (2.66 Ghz) its fairly close to your x5675 isn't it?
