Dedicated Server question regarding bandwith

Post by Individual »

If I get a dedicated server and run BF3 on it, roughly how much bandwidth am I looking at per instance?

Oh more thing. Do you guys offer bandwidth packages after we rent the dedicated server? For instance, can I add an additional 5000 GB bandwidth per month without being charged 10 cents per GB?

PS, sorry I couldn't add this to the orignal post. It would let me edit it for some reason.

Hi,

I am not sure on exact numbers but there is no way you will even come close to that. 5000 GB of BW more then plenty. Maybe if you were running 7 64 slot servers packed 24/7. Then again I am not even sure that would do it.

However if you do need more BW for real reasons, you can talk to John, who may be able to help you out.

When full, a 32-slot server uses about 2 Mbps outbound an 0.8 Mbps inbound, which would add up to maybe a few hundred GB over the month. I don't have the numbers on a 64-slot server yet.

I'm looking to host at most 3-4 instances, and I just wanted to check before doing something that's going to cost me extra in the end if I exceed the limit.

You wouldn't exceed the limit with that number of instances.
