Lots of lag
We have been playing primarily on NFO test servers as we have a 32 and 64 player preordered, however as of today there is alot of lag. Enough the guys are currently playing on a 64 gameservers out of Texas and there is a decent amount less lag than on NFO. Are you guys doing anything weird that may be causing the lag?

Re: Lots of lag
I started setting servers to their own cores, as mentioned in this thread: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... f=1&t=5807. Did you play on a Chicago server after the most recent adjustment? If so, let me know, and I'll try turning it back off, to change it back to just letting Windows handle everything.

Re: Lots of lag
Gotta say I'm a bit worried as well. I pre-ordered a 64 in Denver and I see those 2 sitting empty... also in all NFO servers we are experiencing lag...as the games go on. The best performance we have had since Caspian is *cough*... your competitor which we won't mention. Do I need to worry?
Re: Lots of lag
I'd really prefer to keep this discussion in a single thread.
I'll stop using dedicated cores in order to bring us back to the way things were last night.
Keep in mind that this is a beta and the best time to test tweaks. You don't need to be worried. We know that we have the best available hardware and bandwidth, and all the machines are highly underloaded. When the game is released, we will run servers with the best configuration that we find here during the beta.

Re: Lots of lag
Wow, that was a great night. No lag, and no crashes. Well done! I stuck with NFO all day/night after you messing with things earlier. Still wondering about the Denver location I chose.... 0/64 all day it appeared.
Re: Lots of lag
The servers seem to fill up rather randomly depending on how their matchmaking works. You can always change your location after the server is set up, though, and shouldn't even lose the favorites entry when doing so

Re: Lots of lag
Most of our clan played in CHI last night and things were great. The odd lag spikes were much fewer apart.

Re: Lots of lag
I played on a lot of NFO BF3 beta caspian servers, LA, SJ, CHI, DAL, ATL, they all ran pretty good. The server in SJ really rocked today. The VDS in Dallas also ran pretty good after the player slots were dropped. I also tried other companies. Most other company servers have the 3 sec hitch at certain times during gameplay. I would ask "anybody getting 3 sec hitches?" and would get a lot responses yes, so I know it wasn't from my end. I only saw the 3 sec hitches on the Dallas VDS before the slots were lowered the 1st day that it starting running. I'll have to try it again. I'm glad we found you guys and can't wait to start our Bf3 server.
