Server Quickmatch?

Does it work for your server?

For me I have had 0 quickmatch players...
I am still waiting for quickmatch players.

I hope tons of people cancel their empty servers service so some of the decently populated servers get a spot...

Things have improved average wise:

Battlefield 3
Player Online: 99,891
Server Online: 18,849

We were at 4 players per server,
Dropped to 3 players per server,
Now hitting a high with 5.3 players per server.

Anyone have a couple to spare? lol

People have certainly been cancelling due to their servers being empty, and I'm sure will continue to do so.

I don't think a whole lot of players use Quickmatch.

I know I don't, I just sort the master list by NFO and a map I wanna play.

I see, it's just weird on how some servers restart and they get players to come in right away to fill up the servers within seconds/minutes.

Just don't see that happening for any of my servers yet except that first week.

It's not too weird. Those servers typically have dedicated groups of regulars who have the servers in their favorites lists. When clients get disconnected, many reconnect immediately from the favorites entry, and the server is bootstrapped again.

With a current bug in BF3 leading to high crash frequencies for large servers with high ticket counts, many of the most popular servers crash every few hours.

I haven't heard this. How high a ticket count increases the odds of the crash?

woowoo, we're not sure. All the servers that I've have had it set to 300% or higher, but that could just be because that's such a common value. The server that was the worst (crashing hourly) also had a high round counter set -- 12, I believe.

Our server seems to be getting QMers as once we get a handful of our members in there, its filling right up. My thing is though, we only have the 4 new maps in rotation and Im getting hounded by my members to add some of the older ones back in.

But am I correct that I read you won't get ANY QMers if you combine old and new maps? I hate to mess up a good thing.

Shouldn't matter as long as your server is setup with QM settings.

If you combine core maps and B2K maps in your cycle, you'll only have people who've purchased B2K matched on the server. But, that's about 90% of players.

Gotcha... I just thought someone from DICE had posted Pre-B2K something about no QM on servers running the map pack... something to do with not wanting players getting booted when a map came up and they didnt have the pack.

DICE posted this, which is where I got what I just said:
Game servers can mix and match B2K and non-B2K maps. Players who have not purchased B2K will be warned if they attempt to join a server with B2K maps in the rotation. Quickmatch will not send those players to servers with B2K maps in the rotation either. The guiding principle here is: if possible, avoid having people get kicked from servers.
