Users getting PB kicked

I've suddenly have reports of users getting PB kicked - the violation is generic. I have this report from 3 regular players.

Is there a way to ensure I have the latest PB on the server?

You can run this command through the rcon tool to check your PB version:

pb_sv_ver

You can compare that version number with the one listed on the game's PB page at http://www.punkbuster.com to determine if it's the latest. If it isn't, the PB auto-updater may be getting hung up.

When I try this within the rcon tool on my Server Control Tab for my VDS, it responds with

UnknownCommand

in a green font, I was simply copying and pasting what you posted in the thread.

That's my fault, as I gave you the wrong command. The actual one to use:

The server is more likely up to date.
If you look in your pb logs, you will see that the players client is failing to update.

There is a glitch in the game/pb where the auto update for the client pb is failing.
So to compensate for this, pb disabled the autokick for this bug.

The may have fixed it and re-enabled the auto kick.
So I would suggest they run pbsetup to update their pb client.

It is possible that the client update tonight will include the latest PB. It's not mentioned in the changelog, but sometimes games will do this.
