ProCon and the Rcon Port?

Post by HarryNutz »

Till the day NFO offers ProCon hosting, I have to keep my "other" host for it and wondered if anyone knows if the Rcon Port makes a difference as I can't seem to get ProCon connected to the new server here and thats about the only thing I could think of that might be different.

Are you using the rcon port? If not you should be. The rcon port is listed on the easy set up tab next to the rcon password field.

Well I don't see anywhere that you would put the Rcon Port into ProCon.

It would take the place of the regular port.

Who is hosting your procon layer now?

Sometimes you have to add a line with the gamerserver ip and rcon port to the config file

I am not familiar with how they do it

The file that contains the layer server info is "procon.cfg"

You should have some lines that start with "procon.private.servers.name" - and it should have the ip for your game server listed after that followed by a port number and then the actual name you gave your server

I forgot to add - one way to check if you have the right info is to try to connect to your game server directly from procon running on YOUR computer

Use the rcon password to log in, you don't need a username, all you need is the gameserver ip and port - 47200. If you can connect from home, then try to get it set up at GS

Got it... apparently their CP asks for Server Port and not Rcon Port, so I put the Rcon Port in and it works. Thanks.
