Can't create another ban list.

I am trying to clean up the pbbans.dat so it doesn't contain the aci banlist, and the suggestion was to create an acibans.dat and add the line "PB_SV_BanLoad acibans.dat" in your file pbsv.cfg. Only problem is that it won't let me create the new file.

Are you sure that you are trying to save it as pb/acibans.dat and not just acibans.dat? If so, try creating the file on your home computer instead, and then upload the finished file to the server.

Tried both ways. It's says it's restricted because of:

Not sure why it gives this message since it's not outside the pb folder, but inside.

It's the same with FTP. You provide FTP access, but you don't allow access to the contents of all the pb files and folders. Evenbalance never restricts any of their files.

I can upload it in FTP, but when I look in the NFO admin panel, it doesn't show.

I have had a long discusion with John about this. He said Dice will not allow but 1 .dat file.

Ironman44 is correct. DICE is very clear in their documentation to all BF3 RSPs that the only .dat file we are allowed to give customers access to is pb/pbbans.dat.

Funny how they can restrict someone elses product.

Makes it really difficult to manage banlists.

If I copy pbbans and aci banlists in and remove the old, I loses all my own personal bans.
Kind of a crappy way to take care of business.

You should also be able to download pbbans.dat and modify it by changing its lines, to define any number of bans. It is just a text file, with one line per ban.

Yea, but I have to go through over 3000 lines and locate any of my personal pb bans which are in the middle of it all.

We have been trying to keep our own banlist on our forum, but our members don't always update the posts.

I agree its a crap move on Dices part, we are suppose to have full access to PB

Full access would never be possible, as if you could write .dlls to the main PB folder, you could obtain the server code. Allowing certain additional files would be possible from a security standpoint, but when they created the rules, they just didn't include other .dat files in the list.

They should have considered allowing files of either .dat or .txt, and forbid any others.

Now I know why the black screenshot kicker doesn't work.

Pain, your tool won't work because PB_SV_SsCmd is disabled in BF3 (allowing it would open up a massive security hole). You can upload those files to the screenshots folder, but there's no way for you to force PB to run the command.

They don't go in the SS folder.
They go in the pb folder.

Doesn't matter anyway.
