Lag! :(

This game has definitely gotten quite laggy over time. I'm feeling sluggish movements as well as seeing bad warping after dying. The game wasn't like this a while back. Anyone else seeing this?

At first I thought that it was just my Operation Metro server after having been up and full for 1 week straight but the lag still persisted even after a restart and even on my other 64 player server. I contacted NFO before restarting to find out the memory usage and they replied that the lag seemed to have been more related to PunkBuster.

The funny thing is that I don't see many players mentioning it so that tells me that it is either a problem on my end or every other player just camps too much while I move around a lot, enough to notice the lag.

Any feedback?...

It could be a long list of things but have you contacted us so we can check CPU levels on your machine?

Have you considered turning off PB as a test?

Yeah its been there for a few weeks? : When I run there is slight lag. This gets worse when servers are close to 64 people. I had this problem in BC2, and it turned out to be bad KVM switch I was using, but this time I don't know what it is.

A support request would be a good option, but to test you can try disabling procon and any anti-cheat streaming that you may have. Also asking a few players if they feel any lag.

We have had it also for several weeks on a 32 slot server.
MIght get a good day here and there, but for the most, it's lag and rubberbanding.

And of course the big dump hit us late last night.
Everyone said screw it and went to bed.

I have tried turning off procon a few times, it isnt that. I'll try turning off streaming tonight.

That dump last night was an across-the-board Blaze problem, sadly, and I think a lot of people said the same thing.

The best guess at this point on the cause of the issues is PB.

Nice patch - lag is so bad some of us can't even play tonight.

Can you ask these clowns to roll back this last update from today.
At least the lag was playable yesterday.

Ok we have 40-50 people playing.(GT doesn't show it right for sqdm) Anyways the lag is there.

I disabled pbbans streaming-> still there

I disabled md5tool checks-> still there

I tried turning off procon again -> still there

Yep, broken game indeed.
Most of the guys that play BF3 nowadays are playing CS:S again (another broken ass game).

We are currently waiting for EA to fix their game and then maybe we will comeback to play BF3 again.
Right now I am just waiting for CS:GO to come out and of course Diablo 3.

Could never get into CS.
Got it on sale and played it a couple times and that was it.

Some really messed up servers we were on.
They had some funny maps.

Our server is also getting hit pretty hard with lag. I myself have not noticed it that much, but complaints from others on the server about lag are up 100%.

Our server runs procon and streams bans from pbbans.com, but even when disabling all of these ad-dons it does not seem to make much a difference.
