Adaptive Server Size and Battlelog bug (player count)

Hello all,

An NFO support person suggested I post a thread about this issue to see if there is any knowledge out there concerning it.

I was reading the Adaptive Server Size plugin comments and came across people submitting a bug in which the battlelog server size can get stuck from either adaptive server size changing your max server size too much, or manually changing your server size too much.

So, I think what would happen is procon would read the correct server size (12/24 people) but your battlelog might read 12/12.

One solution people have suggested is reverting back to the "old queuing system" before they introduced priority queuing. I am curious whether people have been experiencing issues with this or not. We haven't yet, but would rather be prepared for it and /or stop it before it starts than deal with it when it hits.

We have problems with this. Seems to be ok if the server is just recently restarted. But if the server has been running for a few days, battlelog will show 64 players instead of a lower player count if we need to switch to 32 players max during slower traffic times or after a battlelog dump. I don't use adaptive server size anymore because the server sticks at 32 players and won't move to higher player counts like 48 and 64 sometimes. I think it just boils down to problems that EA needs to fix. :wink:

what's NFO's stance on reverting back to the old queuing system ?

We do not currently have a mechanism for changing it in our control panel and it's not something that we'd recommend doing, since it will also break VIP slots and need to be undone when DICE releases a fix later to the adaptive slot bug. If it's a requirement for you, please open a support request for me to look at it.

Today my server got stuck on 64 people using Adaptive Server Size plugin. In Procon it was listed as 42/48 or some other similar <64 maximum. I think it does indeed make it a bit more difficult to grow when there is such a large gap. I'd rather have it get stuck at 64 than something like 32 though. :)

Don't utilize VIP slots anyways, so no problem for us to go back :)
