What we intend to do: In a nutshell: squeezing every last drop of possible enjoyment from bf4, by offering viable options alongside the official presets, which are "Normal" and "Hardcore".
Why?: Currently playing a bf3 game is akin to ordering a Ford model T, between 1914 and 1926. You could have it in any color, as long as it was black. The vast majority of players only play "Normal".
Lastly, there is the question of enjoyment of the game itself. As players become better at the game, they desire greater challenges. In single player mode, this is solved by the game offering different degrees of difficulty. There is no reason why multiplayer games should not offer the same.
Having dedicated presets, that go beyond being simply a collection of different server options, but which alter the core game and introduce new features/options, would.
I am only proposing additional presets for Battlefield 4, as a means of offering new features and core-different playability. In essence, all proposed presets should offer a fresh experience, and not simply minor variations.
The proposal for bf4 is divided into three parts, based on specific targeted groups. The veterans (Classic preset), the competitive players (Pro preset) and the modding community (Community preset).
The Classic preset is posted in 3 consecutive parts, starting here: http://www.mordorhq.com/showthread.php? ... post119309
Please offer thoughts, as this will be revised after taking into consideration the community's feedback. I know already that it is too long. Thank you!
Part 2, the "Pro" preset will be hopefully finalized in the next 2 weeks, and part 3, "Community" preset soon after. If you are interested in helping with the competitive preset, start reading from here: http://www.mordorhq.com/showthread.php? ... -BF4/page7
