Minecraft dedicated IP option in server rentals?

Post by g0tSoul »

I was wondering that when I order a minecraft server rental will it have its very own dedicated IP and will it be changeable with extra cost or options?
Ex. IP: 192.168.1.1:25565
New IP: pvpcraft.net

What exactly is required to get this kind of IP?

All of our game servers include a dedicated IP address, meaning you can setup an SRV record for any domain name you own to point to the server. We have a tutorial that explains how to setup an SRV record on our own webhosting, linked here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =19&t=9280

To clarify, you shouldn't need to use a SRV name with one of our regular servers, since it runs on the default port -- just a regular DNS entry will work. You could still use one if you wish, though, and SRV entries work to point to Minecraft servers run on other ports (such as those on unmanaged services).
