Can't Connect to Server when running Craftbukkit

I have a fresh install of Craftbukkit (from the autoinstaller) and when I try to run the .jar for it, it won't let me connect to the server. I have no idea what is going on. Any ideas?

Running this version of Craftbukkit and 1.7.4 of the game.

A new CraftBukkit Recommended Build (1.6.4-R1.0) that provides Minecraft 1.6.4 compatibility is now available.

Your version of craftbukkit isn't compatible with the latest version of minecraft.
The last update of minecraft was a complete rebuild of the game and it made craftbullit incompatible. The devs of craftbukkit have been working hard for the past couple months trying to rebuild it so it would work with minecraft once again.

The dev version of craftbukkit was causing extreme game server overload so I would touch that.

The finally last week released a beta build which is running very well so far.

Just upload it and copy over the old 1.6.4 craftbukkit.jar.

But with the latest update of 1.7.4, this version might not be compatible anymore.
I'll update our server also and let you know.

Actually I wasn't thinking, but when you start the server with the latest craftbukkit, it will still start with 1.7.2. Have to wait until they upgrade craftbukkit to a 1.7.4 version.

I updated to 1.6.4-R2.0, but your saying that it won't work with 1.7.4 of the game? Because I am still having that issue with that version.

If your playing with 1.7.4 client, then you need 1.7.4 craftbukkit which isn't available yet.
You could roll back to 1.6.4 or 1.7.2 since craftbukkit is available for those versions.

On the Craftbukkit website it said that 1.7.4 is mostly client side fixes and shouldn't affect compatibility with the plugin server side.

Minecraft 1.7.4 contains mostly client side fixes and does not require the client or server to update in order to be connectable, we've decided to focus on 1.7 first before adding any relevant changes from 1.7.4.

Well then try to install 1.7.2 craftbukkit and try to join the server with 1.7.4 client and see if you get in.

I don't have the game. Our clans kids play so I can't test it.

When I get off work, I guess I'll have to try the beta build of Craftbukkit and see what happenes. Thanks, and I'll update when I do get it installed.

Getting the most recent build of Craftbukkit (1.7.2) worked! Thanks all for the help.
