Pre-buy questions

Post by mistahardkill »

I'm heavily considering switching from a VPS to NFO for my 50 person minecraft server.

My questions are, do I have plugin freedom with bukkit etc.? As in, can I install specific versions of craftbukkit + all the plugins I want?

Also, any testimonials one can link to for larger minecraft servers hosted with NFO? Minecraft is pretty dodgy and I want to be sure.

Hi,

Yes, you have just about complete freedom when it comes to your plugins..etc.

Your best bet to find a review would be to check out reviews forum;

Our Minecraft performance is pretty topnotch and hard to beat. We go a little more in depth about the performance here;

We have several MC customers which frequent the forums, so if you are looking for a customers personal experience one of them should reply.

So how do you set up a Nfo server if you already have one? Does it like switch over?

Can you go in to more detail on what you mean by that? Do you need help configuring it..etc?

If you wish to use a VDS for Minecraft, I also recommend that you go with an unmanaged configuration, as that will allow you to purchase and use SSD space. On regular shared hosting, all of our servers run on SSDs, for performance reasons.
