FPS question

Post by mattb »

If valve capped their fps to 500 and soon to be completely removed how can you still offer it and higher fps at nfo?

Well, if they totally remove it then I don't think Nfo can really do much about it..
Even if they find a way I don't think its going to play nice with CS:S.

We'll have to wait and see what Valve does. Right now it's not very clear what their plan is; if they're doing something simple such as what they did for L4D2, there's an easy workaround, but if they do something more complicated, such as adaptive tick sleep times, then the "ultraaccelerator" option may need to be adjusted into a different feature or removed completely.

As it currently stands, ultraaccelerated servers are created on Linux machines, while others are created on Windows, and we use a proprietary kernel-based "FPS Locker" system to make sure that their FPS is as stable as possible.
