High ping to only NFO TF2 servers?
I've noticed that as of recently, whenever I play on an NFO hosted server (which is often), my ping will be at least 200, and often higher. I've played on them before on the same connection (my universities internet) and everything was fine, but since I've moved to a different dorm this semester (and still on the same overall ISP), my ping is always through the roof. This wouldn't be a big deal, but since I play competitively it's really hindering me. Is there a way to find out if this is something on my end? The server a friend of mine rents out is always DCing people, but I'm the only one who has 200+ ping.

Run WinMTR and post results here. This will tell us where on the path your problem lies. On a large shared network like a university, I have heard of latency problems arising when a lot of users are online at once, do you play on any off-peak hours and still notice issues?

Re: High ping to only NFO TF2 servers?
I'm running winmtr on a server IP that I know I've had problems with, but I'm not getting any results whatsoever. I'm running it as an admin, so to my knowledge I'm following all the instructions correctly.

So I was able to run tracert. I've pasted the results below.

Re: High ping to only NFO TF2 servers?
Unfortunately a single traceroute won't tell much, as it only shows a glimpse of the network status. In this case not showing any issues at all.
Please post a screenshot of what happens to your mtr window when you try to run the trace to the game server.

Re: High ping to only NFO TF2 servers?
Any updates here?
Re: High ping to only NFO TF2 servers?
By your MTR results I conclude there are no network issues.
Your ping does spike to 800-1000 sometimes but the average is normal. How long is the ping 200+, and can you run winMTR briefly while you experience issues?

Re: High ping to only NFO TF2 servers?
Are you still seeing ping issues as of now? If you're still seeing issues please run a fresh MTR and open a request with us by sending an email to support@nfoservers.com with your MTR, home IP and the IP of the server you're connecting to.
