Post by TakeonMe »

Good morning, you could help me with my vps of l4d2.
I use linux debian.
I want to install sourcemod and metamod to my server, and install plugins.
Could someone give me help from this page:
https://github.com/SirPlease/Server4Dead-Project

Please, I need help. I'm new to servers.

Do you have the base game running per https://github.com/SirPlease/Server4Dea ... sh%20Start? If so, it should be pretty easy to add MMS and SM to the server.

For both of those, you'd need to just extract the files on your personal machine and then upload those files and folders to your server through SFTP or another similar utility, matching up the folders to your server. The installation guide for MMS at https://wiki.alliedmods.net/Installing_Metamod:Source mentions that after you upload MMS, there should be a "cstrike/addons/metamod" folder on a CS server, for instance (for your server, it would be "left4dead2/addons/metamod" instead). The similar installation guide for SM is located at https://wiki.alliedmods.net/Installing_SourceMod.

When it comes to adding SM plugins later, they are generally just dropped onto the server, typically into the "addons/sourcemod/plugins" folder. Some plugins will also come with other files, such as configuration files, and instructions for how to configure them.

I can not install, the sourcemod and metamod with FTP?
In other words, drag the files to the directory?

You can do that using SFTP, yes. It is like FTP, but a bit better. An example SFTP client is WinSCP.
