CoD4 Redirect?
I can setup a redirect on my current web host, but figured I would ask if you guys have a redirect service for custom maps?
Re: CoD4 Redirect?
Yes, our Websync tool handles this here.
Re: CoD4 Redirect?
Where can I find out about this Websync? Like how it works and all.
Re: CoD4 Redirect?
In your game server's control panel, you should see a tab/page labeled "Websync" which has all the information and options for it.

Re: CoD4 Redirect?
Is there a limit on how often you can manually Sync?
Re: CoD4 Redirect?
No, but the previous sync needs to finish before another can start, which is usually just a couple of minutes.

Re: CoD4 Redirect?
Is the Redirect capped at a certain speed? Asking because the top speed everyone was seeing, is around 450/kbs and I know with our old host we had some members hitting like 2-3mbs.
Re: CoD4 Redirect?
It is not capped at any speed, no. I regularly test the webhosting here and see tens of megabytes per second, but if your clients are far away from Seattle, they may see somewhat lower speeds. You should also double-check the webhosting log to make sure that your files are actually being transferred from the website.
Re: CoD4 Redirect?
Seattle? I assumed it would be located in the same area as our server location which ours is Chicago. Hmmm... guess I'll try using our website and see if it's better since thats located in Texas and not almost 2000 miles away from the majority of our members who are mostly EST.
And yes, during file download its showing the proper redirect url.
And the trace for the redirect is coming out of Fountain Valley California

Re: CoD4 Redirect?
All our webservers are in Seattle right now, yes. GeoIP is notoriously inaccurate when it comes to trying to identify the location of network hardware and datacenter IPs, so it makes sense that your tracert would be showing the wrong location.
