Stuck on "Synchronizing game settings"

Post by s1ege »

A friend of mine can not join any NFO server for Call of Duty 4. He gets stuck on the "Synchronizing Game Settings" screen. This only happens when he tries to join NFO servers. What course of action should we take? I simply don't know what to do.

I haven't heard of others seeing that problem with a server here.

Is he behind a router/firewall and has he tried disabling it/removing it?

Does this happen with every server or just your server? Also is the server in question running any mods or custom maps?

Yes we are using the promod212 mod.
It only happens in NFO servers, no other server companies have this issue with my friend.

Have him go in to his client side folder for COD4 and delete that mod from his mods folder. Then reconnect to the server.

Deleting the map from the websync and re-running the sync might help, I would give it a try.

lastly is he able to actually download the map or does it not download anything for him?

Hi kraze, the maps are already preinstalled on his PC, he doesn't need to download them (strike, crash, etc.)

Ah, excuse me I thought we were speaking of custom maps. I am sorry about that.

At this point I would open a support request so we can get some more information on this user specifically such as a trace route..etc.

Click the "help" button in your control panel to open a support request.
