AMX Mod 0.9.9

Post by Torment »

Are there any plans to incorporate AMX Mod v0.9.9 on the Counter-Strike servers?

We have been waiting on the release of version 0.20 of amxmodx so that we can replace our AMX option with AMXx. This release has been delayed multiple times already by the AMXx team.

We are not planning to use AMX 0.9.9 unless AMXx 0.20 is not released or is significantly flawed.

We could, but then we would also have to officially support both, and still in addition to admin mod.

AMXx is more actively updated and they have a dedicated team working to keep it current and bug free. The new AMX really doesn't hold up with AMXx and I am confident in saying that AMXx is by far better. AMX has died out, and AMXx has replaced it. It may take people longer to migrate from their AMX servers to AMXx but the actual move is seamless because a lot of the configurations are the same, but organized differently.

A lot of the plugins are cross platform, depending on their functions. You might be able to pull off compiling the AMX plugin source with the AMXx compiler and testing it to see if it is stable. It shouldn't be too hard to locate AMXx plugins, since they are all found on the AMXx website and are categorized.

I like amxx but have yet to find a good swear filter. The one I had on before was crashing the server. It was the amxx swear filter with punishment. Stay away, until it gets fixed.
