You can read this tutorial on how to remotely control your HLTV to record.

You get the demos by going to the HLTV FTP, which is accessible through the information provided on the configuration page of the HLTV control panel. The info is just below the field.

You have to put something after record, ie rcon record test, for it to start recording.

Its going to be in the folder of the game mod you played under, such as cstrike if you recorded on a 1.6 server. Demos are zipped up within the hour.

You have to play the demo using your CS client, just like you would with a personal demo. If you have never done that before, you place the demo file into your cstrike folder and type playdemo demoname in the console. You can also use viewdemo demoname. To make things easier, you can rename the demo to a shorter and easier demoname.

That would mean that the demo isn't in the cstrike directory or isn't named HAM.dem.

You have to download it from the HLTV FTP and place it in your own local cstrike folder. It must be named just HAM.dem, nothing like HAM-etcetcetc.dem.

Ok mine is working but its putting it directly into my cstrike folder not on the ftp cstrike folder? Any idea what i have done wrong. Meaning its putting it in my home computers cstrike folder, not the servers hltv ftp folder.

Thanks

It sounds like you are accidentally recording locally rather than through your HLTV. We have full instructions on how to do it through the HLTV here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... f=8&t=1387
