my poor server

Post by duende »

My poor CS server went down today at about 2:45 PM. Seems like the whole machine went down as I can't even connect to my control panel. Lose power up there? Edge100x is gone for 2 more weeks; I hope someone can get in that room and fix it.

nevermind

Nevermind, I guess I'm the only one who can't connect. I can't connect to the ftp, the control panel or the server itself. Weird. I don't know what to do.

Seems as if it resolved itself. I did some tracert 's on it and there was a bad hop right before I got to the UW network. Now that bad hop is working fine.

I do have another issue; the stats aren't updating for us. I have twice a day updates and they haven't updated for 24 hours now, its missed 2 updates.

more problems

Post by duende »

Man I am having tons of problems with Mr. CS server here.

"Your server appears to be down! "

is all my server control panel says, and get this: I cannot go to the server control page (the one where you can start, stop and do rcon) to start the server up. I click and click but it just doesn't change pages.
BTW, I've tried this from 2 different OS's (albeit on the same computer) so I don't think its a settings problem on my end, but It could be my computer nonetheless.

It was up as recently as 5 AM this morning, and I noticed it being down at about 7 AM this morning.

But hey, on the good side, the stats updated finally; thanks to whoever did that for me. 8)

Post by To'mas »

yes, we have a server down. we have someone going in on Sunday to re-boot-assess the situation. In the meantime, please accept our apologies and this: for everyday down=two free days of server time

The stats on my server have been updating only once a day at 10 PM for the last few days... did you change my service? If not, I'd like to get them to update twice a day again.

Also I noticed some price differences and different options on your prices page. I was wondering if those of us who signed up before you got the "premium" server option are "value" servers now? And if the current UW servers will be comparable to the "value" servers in the Westin?

First off, thanks for pointing out that your stats were not updating properly. I have now set them to update four times a day, which will hopefully offset the time that they were running only once a day :?

Second, you had some good questions regarding where the current servers fall under the pricing scheme listed on the page. I would rate current servers at UW to be somewhere in the middle between Value and Premium. Nothing can beat InterNAP when it comes to speed. They are better peered than Cogent in Seattle, so I would consider them ahead of the Value servers.

On a side note, the new pricing will be applied to new servers only. Current servers will continue to be where they are now and for the prices you currently pay. Of course, if anyone would like to upgrade to a Premium server, we encourage that ;) (and they really [b:176zdi2j]are[/b:176zdi2j] extremely fast, we're not kidding there ;))

Eh? Premium servers what is that? I have not come accross anything about Premium server expect in this thread. Nor did i see an option on th e price page. Although i have been known to have slective sight :P

Any info would b great on this. But how much could these servers be i the one that my server is on now loads really fast. Like when map change i am in the next within less then 30 sec most fo the time and even with a full server i have never really seen any packet and or choke.

So ya i happy for now, or untill i get more money :D
