Transferring TS3 from VDS to new VDS

Post by .=QUACK=.Major.Pain »

So I am attempting to copy an existing TS3 from an old VDS to a new VDS, and I changed the ip in the ts3server.cfg file to represent the new ip.

But when I start the server, it's not coming up with administrators or channels from the old TS3. Can I not just copy everything over and start it and and have it identical to the old except for the ip change?

You should be able to, the channels are stored in a sqlite database in your teamspeak folder. Do you also have the license key and everything installed?

Unless you have multiple teamspeak servers running on their own IP, on the VDS, there is no need to specify the IP in the cfg.

I moved my teamspeak server from a windows VDS to a linux VDS(switched to linux-only single core) without a hitch.

I just copied everything over and started after editing the cfg file.
It starts up with me as a guest and asks for the key to be entered.

I assumed all groups and users would remain the same.

All groups/users/channels should remain the same...

Are file permissions correct?

Fixed it.

Filezilla refuses to copy the db over.
So whenever I started the TS3 server, it generated a new default one.

Had to delete the new db, and copy and paste the old one over manually.

Not sure why Filezilla blocks the upload, but got it working now.

Thanks

The more I use filezilla, the more I notice its faults. Nothing better out right now though :(

Glad you got it fixed :)
