BF BC2 Hard Core

Post by wjordan »

Was wondering if by any chance you guys would put a 20 man Hardcore server up in Dallas. Been Playing on Hypernia as they seem to be the only ones offering HC but been getting some lag spikes.. Maybe just the beta or pushing the limit who knows.

What I like is the fact that they seem to have some guys that are looking at all the aspects of the game and thats a feel good. In saying that though I hear so many positive things about your company that I wanted to try some on HC.

Second question is if I pay for a 32 man server plus CPU priority can I run it as a 20 man server and maybe at a later date run 32 but keep the discount. My thinking is to have a bit more resources tied to my VM and if I ever decided to use it I can.

I've put up another server for you in Dallas running Hardcore now. It's at bc2dal6.nuclearfallout.net:19037 and is called "NFOservers.com: Dallas #6 (Hardcore)". I couldn't get the game to run at less than 32 players, so it is running as 32, currently.

The game still has some performance glitches that they're working hard to iron out in the beta. One of these is a slight pause when a player joins the game, and you'll see it in any server. This should be fixed with a server update in the next couple of days, although some other performance glitches might remain (including one issue with Punkbuster, for PB-enabled servers).

If you would like to order a 32 and run it as a 20, we can find a way of doing that for you. However, in either case, we'll be very careful to make sure it doesn't have performance problems (at least, as much as a provider can). Performance is where we really shine here :).

Sorry to be a pain how about a 16 man server HC for test. I am really loving the HC but just having more of a good time on the lower number servers. Lots of actions but does not turn into a camp fest.

These GPS review sites that are around. I gather they are all BS since their top choices are out service.

I've managed to get it down to 16 slots for you now.

Most of the GSP review sites are not well-maintained and actually run by people who own their own GSPs, so you should definitely take them with more than a few grains of salt. At one major site, we were also spammed with bad reviews awhile back (with ads for Viagra and 0/10 points) and the admin cleaned out the spam but left the bad numbers in the database, making our score much lower than it should be.

Dallas 16 man HC has been awesome. Starting to get some good crowds. The server seems very stable and the fast response in putting it in place was very nice.
I will be placing my order for a pre order server today.
