Server Keeps Saying Offline and Other Things

I click the button to start the server, and it says that it's been enabled. However, on the status page, it says that it is offline.
"This server does not appear to be online. It could be changing maps or it could be completely down"
This could be causes by the fact that I don't know how to set maps. Do you just put the name there, or the Workshop link, or what?

Ok, I've fixed this, but now whenever the server starts, or reloads, or whatever, it is on gamemode Sandbox. I don't know why this is since in server.cfg i have

That's happening because Garry's Mod does not accept uppercase letters. You'll need to put it in as "darkrp".

I did that and reloaded the server, but now just about everything is broken. My phys gun is black, I can't open the Q, C or F4 menu, and it still has the Sandbox GUI and speed...what did I do wrong?

I feel like one of the most obnoxious and impatient people on the Internet, and I apologize.
I got it working, all I needed to do was slap the stuff in the server.cfg into the autoexec.cfg
I'll try stuff for a while before posting again
