Server optimisation.

I recently rented an NFO VDS with 2 cores, 4GB of RAM and WS2012R2, the Gmod server is running a Nutscript schema but when we get 20-22 players the server CPU spikes to around 80%, anybody know why/how to optimise it so it allows us to have more players without the fear of lag?

The server itself should be able to run GMod fine so you should look at your addons and gamemode, they may be poorly optimized, if at all.

You can also consider reducing the tickrate, which is directly related to CPU usage.
