Gmod Mysql Problem

I am trying to setup a gmod server and the mysql wont connect how to i allow the mysql server to connect to the game server

You can connect to the MySQL server on your webhosting account here from the game server. To do this, use the information on the "Databases" page for the webhosting. Make sure not to use "localhost" as the hostname, which is a common mistake.

he is using another web hoster. Would this be possible with another web hoster or only with an nfo site also it running on linux.

He can use any MySQL server he wants, but the provider of the MySQL service will need to authorize it.

Our regular game servers here come with free webhosting and free MySQL databases, so it would be easiest and best to just use us.

unfortunetly he is using my vds for the gmod part of my community and as far as i know that doesnt come with free hosting =[

Ah, this should be under the dedicated servers section in that case.

Anyhow, I'd recommend using webhosting here, but you could use one somewhere else. You'll just need them to allow external MySQL connections.
