I have been trying for a very long time to get this to work
But no matter what I do the motd will not show. I have a ulx motd along
with the one that goes in the cfg folder and they are all matching
But it wont show. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So you are trying to get ULX's MOTD system working? To do that, go into addons/ulx and there should be a file named ulx_motd.txt if not, just create it yourself. In this file is where you can add your MOTD. The one in the cfg folder is likely unused in the current Garry's Mod version as I haven't noticed any place where it is needed. Let me know if this works for you.
