Cant connect to server (timeout)

Hey everyone
Just got a server few hours ago.

The only changes I made was the game mode and my server name to show in the list with my RCON password.

I see my server but when I connect to it load 1st screen sits there forever and then timesout back to menu with Timeout message.

Has anyone had this issue ?

Support ran a repair but that did not fix it...

If anyone had this issue please let me know

The only time i've had that issue was when they removed the all_classic map group.Can you post a ss of the console when your trying to connect?

but it stays on that screen where info should be written (game mode what not) but its blank no info on it and then times out eventually but in my console it says what i pasted above ..
SUpport has event did a WIPE on my server ... im able to play on many other servers just not mine ...

I also just tested a few NFO servers ..
1 loaded but slowly
4 others gave me the same issue im having ...

this has got to be an issue on NFO side but they cant figure out much

Might be an issue with the updates.I had to have my server wiped last night,due to fact it wouldn't restart.I also noticed my custom map group stopped working & started working again after the wipe.Any crash dump files showing up?

My server was doing the same thing. I had switched the map to office Sunday night and it was restarted after the update Monday. I was not able to connect to the server today so for the heck of it I changed the map to Office and now it works fine. I have not switched it back to the other maps to try it on Dust. Maybe this will help you guys out as NFO worked with it last night and could not get me in the server. If they read this maybe it will help them figure out what is going on????

they said they fixed this issue bu moving people

This happens when you edit gamemodes.txt directly!

Do not use it unless you plan to run vanilla with 0 edits.

Copy the contents from gamemodes.txt and make a new file called gamemodes_server.txt
Then make all the edits in gamemodes_server.txt and upload it in the CS:GO folder.

Restart, problem fixed.
Countless amount of people are doing this mistake and breaking their servers. NFo made an announcement in control panel.

I guess it's valve's fault too a bit.

They literally had to change my server to another machine for it to work
they said its not the 1st time it happens i guess they have issues with some machines

crankypunk's problem was specific to a certain machine in NYC, I believe, and affected a small number of customers at that location (I discuss it in more depth @ http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =82&t=7790). There are also other ways to cause crashing like this through configuration files. This game is still beta-quality, at least from a server perspective, with many bugs and design flaws.

This is an understatment!

I know Valve almost screws up all their releases by making them late but DAMN messing up server side clients and everything to make it 10X harder, Valve sure screwed up big and we are going to have to see if this is going to cost them!
