Blank screen when connecting to server
When I connect to my server i'm looking at what looks like a blank main menu screen.. In the console it displays: "connected to "serveripaddress", but it never loads a map or allows me to pick a team.. I've set the game mode in autoexec. Not sure what else to do. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Blank screen when connecting to server
Here is the last answer
We can try moving your server to another machine, I wouldn't be able to do this right now as it causes lag on windows machines but I can schedule one for you and that should fix this. Please let us know
not even sure that would even fix it ...

I just posted in the timeout thread. I can get in the server on the hostage maps. I don't know why but maybe this will help??

Re: Blank screen when connecting to server
I fixed my server. The autoecec.cfg file was messed up on mine. My fault of course I misunderstood the way of getting mixed modes. Fixed that and all is well.

Re: Blank screen when connecting to server
They literally had to change my server to another machine for it to work
they said its not the 1st time it happens i guess they have issues with some machines

Re: Blank screen when connecting to server
We found a bug in the game that prevents it from running on the fastest machines in our arsenal (the dual eight-core E5-2690 monsters with 128 GB of RAM). That bug causes the server to crash when a client connects to it. crankypunk, that's likely what affected you.
One workaround for this that we identified early on was to move those servers to different machines. However, removing an IP from a machine as part of the move can cause problems for other customers on the same host, so that wasn't an option for us during peak hours today, and we had to recreate several customers from scratch on new IPs as an alternative.
Valve has also communicated another workaround to us, which is to run the server with "-threads 1" on the command line for the server. The crashing problem seems to be related to the threading subsystem.
