Best and fastest way to upload mods to my Arma 2 Server!?

Hi all,

As the title says, I just bought an Arma 2 Server and I'm looking for the best way to upload mods so me and my friends can play. I tried dragging mod folders into the correct directory but it timed out because it took so long. Is there a better way of doing this?

With FTP, even with a timeout or connection loss, you can start it up again and continue uploading remaining files. The could also increase the timeout length of time so you have more time, but not likely that's something they would do. It's probably more a slow connection issue between you and your server.

FTP is the way to go. Setting up a filezilla server isn't difficult and will allow you to keep it running in the background and you can upload files whenever you want.

Have you personally uploaded any mods to an Arma 2 server using this method? If so, how long did it take you?

I'm trying to upload a pack which is around 6gb but it's going to take around 24 hours? Is this normal?

Could be. Depends on your connection.

It is ultimately dependent on your home connection upload speed. The time and size of the update you said sounds about right for the average cable/DSL connection.
