Arma 3 server only loads 4-5 mods

So I have been trying to upload Mods for some time now using the Help button on my control panel. The Customer Support has been fantastic, but unfortunately I have been unable to get my server to run anything more than 4 or even at some times 5 mods. I have made a startup_parameters.txt file and have specified exactly which mods I want to load, but when I get in game it only shows the first 4 in the mod line as being active on the server.

I did find this in my .RPT file which I thought was interesting because it says that it recognizes all of the mods yet they do not show up on the server in-game

The formatting is a bit off due to the size, but hopefully someone can help me out on this because it has been extremely frustrating the past couple of days.

P.S- I am extremely new to running servers and have almost no clue what I am doing (probably why I can't get this to work :/), so if you have any advice please break it down step by step for me if you don't mind.

Could you please post your complete RPT file and also the parameter file that you created?

The order in which you created the mod load parameters is also important, CBA has to be the first mod to be loaded (the first entry in the mod line). If that does not help, please try to create a paramter file in the parameter format specified for Arma 3. I describe the way how to do this in this post:

Also please try to add one mod at a time and check if there are incompatiblities between the mods (I remember that there were a few problems with the combination AiA and ACE, but did not follow this up, if they were fixed).

So that is my startup_parameters.txt file. I tried doing what you suggested in another post and making separate mod lines because it only loads four mods at a time (It doesn't matter what four mods which answers your question of if ACE and AiA are compatible, because I had them running together on my server a couple of hours ago). All of the mods should be compatible because the only error script in my .RPT files that I can see has to do with caf_ag but it is only a single line of code and I don't think that has anything to do with mods being incompatible because my game starts up just fine with all of the selected mods and I am able to run my mission on a LAN network.

I also have already tried doing the Arma3.par file, but with no luck. Even if I delete the parameter.txt file and only have the .par file, it doesn't recognize any of the mods as being there at all while the .txt file can still only see 4 of them.

Hm, you have duplicate entries for -name, -cfg and -config parameters. Either define them in the parameter file or in the start-up line (your control panel most likely). The parameter text file should only have one -mod= load parameter.

You don't need the -par= start-up paramter, if you use the ArmA3.par file. The server will automatically load it, if it detects it is present.

You also have several errors about local variables in global namespaces (private defined variable has a global value somewhere). This is usually mod/script breaking, the sqf files will not work/are not processed correctly (this usually results in a crash...). You have to check which mod is causing this and then remove it, or check if there is an updated version/code correction available.

Ok So I have tried taking mods away until it gets rid of the error messages, but It only leaves me with two mods (AiA and CBA) which doesn't seem right because I know that the server can run at least 4 mods at a time (hopefully more by the time we are done with all of this) I have tried playing around with the mods, but it still has never loaded more than 4 mods at a time no matter what mods I try to use. I have put the mods back into the parameters file and the server can run just fine, but the server only shows CBA, AiA, ALiVE, and ACE as being on the server when I view it on the in-game browser. As long as I put whichever four mods I want at the beginning, they will show up on the in-game browser (I have tested this with TFR, ACE, AiA, ALiVE, CBA, and the RHS mods)

With the .par file, I don't think that the server is detecting it, because in the .rpt file it says that it is still pulling the mod line from the parameters.txt file

And here is an updated .RPT file which is still giving the same error messages as before but it seems to only happen when you put more than 4 mods in the parameter file

The parameter file still has duplicate start-up parameters:

Either define those through your server control panel, or in the parameter file, but not in both.

If you define the ArmA3.par file, the server should not read the startup_parameters.txt file; the -par= command from the control panel should not be set. Try to completley shut-down the server and wait a few moments before starting it again. Please also check if the uploaded mods are not corrupted and all files are present.

Also, please try to add the following paramter either to your parameter file, or in your control panel:

-autoInit
This will automatically start your defined mission. Then please check if you can connect to your server and if all mods are initialized.

Sorry, I am still extremely new to server hosting so I'm not quite sure where to define the start-up parameters at. My control panel startup parameters are completely blank so I don't think that it is making the duplicate. Could it be the parameters.txt file and the ArmA3.par file conflicting that is creating the issue? If so, which do you recommend to keep and which one to get rid of?

I have shut down the server probably 20 times now, but no luck with it. I also went through with one of my buddies and we checked to make sure that all files were present (Which they were).

We are currently working on making a new (Very Basic) mission template to test on, but or last mission would take us to the slot selection screen and try to load but then just end up just forcing us back to the mission select screen with no error message. Maybe we will get some luck on the test mission, but could you still explain how to define my start-up parameters. Thanks in advance!

Nvm I actually got it working! So apparently the server browser doesn't want to show all of the mods that are listed, but I jumped into an mcc template and it seems to work just fine. Now I have to make another mission to fit the mods that we are trying to use. But I'm just happy that we got it figured out...well mainly you but i'll steal some of the thunder anyways:)

Anyways I can't thank you enough for all of the help. You guys are definitely a game changer!

Glad that it is working now :) .

When I suggested to try the -autoInit parameter and load into the mission I wanted to check if the server actually initialized the mods correctly and the server browser was only not displaying all of them - which apparently happened.

I would recommend to use the paramter file in plain text form and use it to load mods only - leave the rest of the settings to the NFO default settings through the control panel (-name, -cfg, -config, etc.). Delete the .par file, as this will conflict with the -par= start-up command.

When creating the mission, I would recommend only to load the add-ons that the mission is actually using, thus not creating any unneccessary dependencies (in this case, the additional world islands like Panthera and AiA). It is also a good practice not to load additional world island on the server that you are not using for the mission, as they only use up memory (again Panthera, AiA, etc.).
