Mod line help please

Post by DieselJC »

I have uploaded all mods into the main directory..configured the mod line...but the server doesnt respond...I uploaded files to the main directory..do they all need to be in the "arma2" folder?

here is the mod line.
arma2;expansion;ca;@CBA_CO;@fallujah;@GLT_MissileBox;@JayArma2Lib;@GLT_F16;@FFAA_Terroristas;@rangers;@rh_aks;@RH_HK416;@rh_m14;@RH_M4;@RH_Pistol;@RH_MGS;@tf86_seals;@RH_SMG;@RH_MK18;@McTierOne;@sthud;@stmovement;@Blastcore_Visuals;@JSRS

any help would be great.

Thanks,

JC

It may be that one or more of your mods are causing a problem when they load. If you remove the extra mods from the mod line that you installed, does the server start up normally? If so, you can add the mods back on the mod line one at a time to see which one is causing a problem.

Are you running a Arma II variant server or a Operations Arrowhead variant?

You mention Arma II and Combined Operations.
Combined Operations is the pack of both Arma II and OA.

Please take a look at your .RPT file and post it here if possible (delete an existing one first, then start the server again so we have a clean file with the relevant data in it).

And what do you mean with not responding? Is a client not able to connect, or does it not start at all?

Just did some further background checking related to the CBA addon. The @CBA_CO only works in combination with the latest beta patching, so make sure to run the latest beta also, at the moment this would be: ARMA2_OA_Build_102285

You can download the latest beta patch here:
http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

If you do not use the beta patch, you have to use the old library binding (@CBA_OA;@CBA_A2;@CBA).

I checked into the CBA;s and I will most likely have to run the older ones..wich is fine..but I have no mods up and the server gives me this message.

Your server has been successfully started. It should be ready to accept connections in a few moments, assuming it is configured correctly.

Your server is not responding. But, you just started/restarted it, so it should be online again shortly (click this tab to check its status again).

Still shows not responding. Thanks for the help with the CBA issue tho..dont know if this is a server issue or its my end thats not working...again..no mods running and modline is for Combined Ops.

arma2;expansion;ca

Still not responding..
Ill get the rpt and post it here.

I also just read about CBA_CO has to be used after a certain OA beta version otherwise older OA beta requires older CBA.
Also with CBA when using multiple CBA mods, the priority in the command line has to be watched.

Funny - I am trying to install a Invasion 1944 server right now, and I get the same CBA error you get at the end.
But if you hit continue, server starts up.

I heard people saying remove the CBA_CO and it improves on framerate, but map devs don't want you to remove it.

A special reason why you changed the arma2oaserver.exe filename? Also, the 'ReadAndWrite' is a bit suspect...

Are you sure that your server stopped completley when you tried to start it with the standard -mod parameters without any CBA components?

Me again..lol
sorry for all the replies here but I see the server up in vanilla mode..altho the "Server Status" box in the control panel shows its down..so that may be attributed to the issue in chicago earlier this week not sure.
Next question.. How do I enable the beta build on the server? Otherwise I'll download the other CBA's and load those up I thought the beta was just clientside.

The beta patch is downward compatible, so if you run it on the server, clients with version 1.62 will still be able to connect; although I highly recommend that clients also run the latest beta patch...

You have to upload the \beta folder on your server and use the arma2oaserver.exe that comes with the beta folder. Next, you will have to start the server with the beta patch enabled, something like this:

"D:\arma2_dedicated_server\Expansion\beta\arma2oaserver.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion

Please replace the D:\ drive/path with your drive letter and path.

I didnt rename any files..thats odd..just put in the server name in the server.cfg so it shows in the lobby as what I want it to..its up in vanilla mode now and works fine...going to try and load it with the CBA's in a bit and see what happens.
I like that I44 mod!
