Arma server reports strange error

Post by Gustafson »

Right so arma2;expansion;ca works correctly, the server starts up without a hitch, but when I try to start the server with the mods specified

arma2;expansion;ca;@WinterCamos;@ACE;@ACEX;
@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_SM;@ACEX_Usnavy;@ACRE;
@ad_helos;@brg_africa;@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;
@CLAfghan;@fallujah;@ibr_towns;@Iranian_Forces;
@isla_duala;@JayArma2Lib;@LEA;@Loki;@mb_objects;
@mbg_gen_afr_buildings;@mcn_aliabad;@mcn_hazorkot;
@opx_objects;@razmisc;@sthud;,

this is the error that is reported:
Include file x\cba\addons\main\script_macros_common.hpp not found.

I could not find this file on my own modset

I don't personally own arma 2 Combined ops, instead i use arma2lite and arma2 operation arrowhead. Could this be the problem?

Thanks for any and all help!

This seems to be indicating that a file is missing from the CBA installation. I recommend re-uploading the @CBA folder from the very latest distribution of CBA.

From a Google search, this seems to be a common client-side error, as well.

I uploaded the latest version of CBA and it seems to have fixed that issue.

Unfortunately another error has popped up when trying to start the server:

Addon 'cba_xeh_oa' requires addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E'

from what google tells me, i need to upload my expansion\beta into the server. trying this now.

Your CBA loading is not correct. You have to load CBA libraries before you load any other components depending on them (ACE for example in this case). Your first start-up parameter should be the following:

-mod=@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA;

Also note the CBA_A2 and CBA_OA before the CBA.

Thanks for the advice,

this error message persists however:

cba_xeh_oa' requires addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E'

We also get that error on running a Invasion 1944 Dayz server.
Someone said to remove the help files and it fixed it, but hell if I know what help files he referred to.

If I find out any more, I will get back to you.

No sure what exact type game your trying to run but here's what you need for each type of Arma version:
Please take note of the new, somewhat inversed, requirements:
Always load @CBA
Also load @CBA_A2 if you have A2 Original content
Also load @CBA_OA if you have Operation Arrowhead content
Also load @CBA_TOH if you have Take on Helicopters content
So for CO users: @CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA
For TOH Rearmed CO users: @CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA_TOH
For A2: @CBA;@CBA_A2
For OA: @CBA;@CBA_OA
For CO: @CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA
CO had a new one called @CBA_CO which is the combination of @CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA
What we have found is that the @CBA_CO is causing that error, so using the 3 indvidual mods instead of the combined has removed that error.

In your case, you have to confirm what Arma type game your running and use the appropriate mods.

Im not running CBA_CO on the server, only the mods stated. Strange thing is that the error I recieved is an error recieved from trying to run CBA_CO.

Im stumped for today, all googled out. :?

What .exe file are you using to start the server?

I'm not sure what you mean,

By "starting" the server i'm referring to starting it via the server control panel.

I guess your using a rented gameserver as opposed to a unmanged VDS or dedicated server.

Generally for unmanaged, you would have a startup line that starts the server like:

Code: Select all

"Expansion\beta\arma2oaserver.exe" -ip=192.210.150.226 -port=2310 "-config=dayz_1.chernarus\config.cfg" "-cfg=dayz_1.chernarus\basic.cfg" "-profiles=dayz_1.chernarus" -name=Reality "-mod=@dayz;@reality_1.chernarus" -noPause -noSound -cpuCount=2 -exThreads=1 -maxMem=2048
Where arma2oaserver.exe is the executable that starts the server.

Also what site did you get you @CBA files from?

I used six updater to download the mods, then uploaded them to the dedicated server.

Apparently the download from the official site only works with arma2 oa beta.

Ok

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.p ... -OA-and-CO

If you read the top, if using OA beta, you have to use @CBA_CO.
And your parameters should look like this:

Code: Select all

OTHERPARAMS='-cpucount=2 -beta=expansion/beta;expansion/beta/expansion -mod=@cba_co;@other;@mods;@go;@here'
Move your @CBA_CO to the very front and remove the other @CBA mods and test it out.
If you still get that error, then remove the @CBA_CO and try like I did and use:

Code: Select all

@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@other;@mods;@go;@here

You might notice in game a lot of console spam if you use the second method.

Did both things you suggested, got the same error message each time:

Addon 'cba_xeh_oa' requires addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E'
