Bugs in the game that you may run into

Post by Edge100x »

MoHW has a LOT of bugs in the PC server right now. Here are some common ones that you may run into:

* A black screen when clients connect. Try restarting the server if you see this (it seems to be a back-end problem).
* Admin daemon commands (and Procon commands, etc) don't work from inside the game. This is because the game does not send chat to connected tools. Also, the game won't allow the exclamation point to be typed (none of the symbols on the number keys work), but this could be worked around by using / instead of !, if the former bug didn't exist.
* Many customizations cause the server to show "vars.ranked" as false, though the server will continue to be ranked in Battlelog. Any of the vars.hud* variables do this, for instance, though they shouldn't, as does friendly fire.
* The option to turn off ranked mode doesn't work.
* Immersive mode requires that friendly fire be enabled, though it shouldn't.
* admin.say doesn't show text in-game. This means that server advertisements configured through the admin daemon, or through PB, can't work.

Classic EA/Dice terrible release of a game.
I must say this is worse than BF3 release.
I wonder if they will ever learn...

Great job @ NFo for getting the servers up right away!

You mean when will EA learn that it's actually a better option to release betas on PC's due to the drastically varying hardware in which you can guarantee smooth, and effective gameplay across numerous platforms thanks to bug fixing over time on said varying platforms and not only release a beta over the consoles, which are all exactly the same?

I think you're expecting too much out of their obvious nearsightedness. I can tell everyone this though. I have loved the Single Player I've played.

Anyway, Thank you Edge, and the rest of the NFO staff for putting up with all our BS and crap, and thank you for being prompt in your release set up.

Also, I have noticed, you are better off launching the game, through origin, independent of battlelog at least one time first. I had all kinds of weird bugs going on until I did this.

I haven't gotten the game to work through Battlelog myself, possibly due to my graphics driver. Also, with this appearing to be a rushed console port, the in-game interface is a bit clunky. I still haven't figured out how to quit playing on a server or to exit the game without killing the process.

I was loving the singleplayer as well. I felt the game mimicked a COD but I had a good amount of fun playing it.

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

I still haven't figured out if there's an in-game push to talk.

Edge, to exit is a little strange.

When you press escape from inside an MP Game. it's right above the weapon/class change options towards the bottom right.

And in SP the "Quit Game" option is at the very top when pressing escape.

Edge, looks like they changed it quote from day 1 patch.

Misc Fixes
Removed Quit Game from the Top Navigation Bar in the in-game pause menu (now found under “Last Resort” in the Respawn Menu.

They hid it so you have no good reason to leave... now play! we command it! lol.

And so I have yet to find this "Last Chance" menu they're talking about. So, the only place I've found is that you have to be spawned into the server. Press escape. Choose quit game, you can go to menu or quit completely, and then confirm. Yeah.

I never saw a game so bugged. Could not even play by the time of release. I am still running BF BC2 and MoH2010 servers, and also BF3, all bug champions. But the amount of problems in this one must be worthy the Guiness Book of Records.

I am glad I am running them from a dedicated server. Wait... this game is so bugged it may crash the dedicated machines... :|

This isn't a server-side bug, but on my GTX 670 I get a random driver error saying device removed or something, once updating driver fixed it. After that the only way I found to play MP was to reboot my computer :/

This might pertain to you, edge.

Well after playing MOH:WF I'm posting my first reactions.

1) Picked Up Game
2) Put Code Into Origin and Downloaded/ Installed
3) Tried loading from Battlelog Webpage...
4) Game Kept Crashing
5) Post on forums in confusion
6) Found a post that helped alot
7) MOH:Wf has a standalone version (How the Game Should be)
8) Launch from Origin Client or Desktop Icon> Click Launch Game(Don't Click on Play through Battlelog)>brings you to in game menu>Select Multiplayer
9) Setup Class and click on "In-Game" Server Browser!! Find a Server
10) Go into a server and unleash total Mayhem and enjoy the graphics and gameplay!

So far my opinion of the graphics and gameplay this is by far way better then the last Medal Of Honor 2010 and I'm liking the gameplay alot.

NFO Server: Ran it full capacity lastnight for a few hours no issues or crashing it ran smooth and great nobody complained about latency issues or anything!

Thanks,

ucjohn

That doesn't fix my problem ucjohn :(

If i launch through origin the game just locks up on the map loading screen instead of giving me the driver error :(
