R15 Patch Discussion

Post by ADKGamers » Mon Dec 09, 2013 4:03 am

-Various server side crash fixes, including the top seen crashes on R14
-Activated the reservedSlotsList.aggressiveJoin command that enables VIP players and server administrators directly joining full servers
-Client patch compatibility to make servers compatible with the Dec 09 client update

Let's discuss this patch!

I was able to check it off for my servers but they are "ranked".

I imagine that we are screwed for "official".

Per their original documentation, this won't work for Official servers. I imagine since they turn off kicking in Official servers, that's why this won't work.

The good news is r15 seals an exploit which forced us to shut down every server for the night. The bad news is took over an hour to convince the nfo rep that we were being attacked. As usual John took over and communicated with EA. All I know is BF4 is forcing me to need a vacation!

nice to see another client and server patch ...but wow, R15 already after the game is out for a month. That's pretty crazy to think the game was that borked on release.

I'm kinda torn on this... On one hand, I would much prefer they release a product that works well. But since they didn't, I'd rather they put out fixes on a regular basis instead of being unresponsive.

I've found an issue with R15 ....need some others to confirm if they see this too. When I set our server to only China Rising maps now, for ConquestLarge, normal, official ...not using Procon and using the force normal settings in NFO's CP --- restart the server -- doesn't show up with the China Rising Icon in the master server list in Battlelog. Prior to R15 this was working properly. I tried several server restarts which normally were required for the CR icon to show up after changing server settings. Still no icon showing that my server is running China Rising. I've switched back to original maps now.

Please do post up if you see this issue of no CR icon now when you change your server to China Rising or running CR maps.

markym, are you setting it to use the CQ preset map cycle, as well?

So I'm guessing the aggressive join is not working on Official servers.

DICE has designed Official servers to not allow admins to kick players, that's correct. That was their plan in the beginning with them.

Anyone else notice a sharp drop in players at the end of the round/round change?

Is me enabling Aggressive Join supposed to set my server to Custom, or is that just a bug or something?
