New BF4 server patch?

First of all, thank you for your comprehension!
DICE has automated most crash reporting, why we do not need to send reports to the same extent as for BF3. We have sent a large amount of reports anyway and DICE is aware of the stability issues.
R3 patch was meant to address certain configuration bugs, R4 stability issues. We have not gotten any ETA for R4, but it should not be that far off.

Cain, I don't know where you're reading that, but we here at NFO make all of our crashes and logs available to DICE through a special system. It allows them to rapidly triage those crashes and then to examine them further as need be. They also have their own crash reporting system, but ours is a bit more useful.

R4 is the version that they are claiming was sent out. They haven't sent it yet, but I'm constantly looking for it.

Honestly, R3 didn't really change much, so I would hesitate to say that it addressed configuration problems. It did add "vars.preset", which is useful for enabling Hardcore mode, but not much else.

saw this posted on battlelog, so I don't know how legit it is.

Changes:
*Fixed the fairfight rcon commands crashing the server when used on the command line or in the startup.txt.
*Readded the vars.unlockMode setting.
*Fix for reloading of full mags in normal games (this is hardcore setting that should now no longer be used as a default when running a non-hardcore game)
*Various crash fixes

RSPs are not yet authorized to release a changelog for R4. DICE is very particular about us not releasing them without authorization, so I'll have to hold off on commenting about it.

Dunno if it is related to the problems in Chicago, but my server crashed 12 mins after the new patch was applied.
