edit button on forums

i was wondering why ou guys have no edit button on the forums.

strategical reasons...
if you really-really-really-really need something edited, just make another post and we can edit it and delete the new post.

We've had problems with people substantially changing the content of posts such that the thread becomes unreadable or skews to make one of the posters look uninformed.

We decided that it was better to keep everything out in the open.
