new admin - need help starting AMX mod?

Hi everyone -

I've installed AMX mod 0.9.9 for Windows on my server but it will not start up. The instructions that came with it say to add "-dll addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll" to the command line which launches the server. I know it's not starting up because the "rcon meta list" returns no message. I did update the addons/metamod/plugins.ini file. I don't see any logged messages indicating that there is a startup error.

Am I doing something wrong? This seems like it should be the easy part!

the only thing I can think of is, did you install metamod correctly?

OPC, you have a CS:S server. AMX mod only is not compatible with Source.

Well don't I feel stupid, been reading all these docs for the wrong app
