what could be the problem,i've had my conection checked, they fixed a low signal issue with my download, but it didn't fix this problem,i have seen my ping jump as high as 150 while in the server, noone else that i know of is having this problem, could the problem going on with level3 and cogent be causing this?

An individual router showing an unstable ping or loss in the trace is not meaningful unless all hops after it show the same problem. Routers deprioritize ICMP TTL-expired traffic under such things as BGP updates, so their ping times will naturally fluctuate.

In your case, the fluctuations actually start much earlier, right at hop 1 or 2.

It sounds like your ISP would be the problem unless everyone else is having the same issue. If you email us, we can take a closer look.

You're also not running anything in the background, such as file sharing applications, and you're not letting anyone else share this connection, are you? Fluctuations like this are often caused by an overloaded client internet link.
