How do you find out how much fps?

I was wondering how do you find out how much fps a server has (like 333 or 500) to make sure a server company doe not rip me off?

With HL1 and HL2-based games, you can determine the server FPS through the "rcon stats" command. I'd recommend that you run it at least a few times to make sure it's not fluctuating too much. Here's an example of its output (from one of our 2000 FPS servers):
