Thinking about renting a public server 24 slot for TF2. What is your default tick rate I would receive? Also, are there surcharges or additional charges for bandwidth? The $100ish price I came up with seems a little low for a 24slot server. I know the old adage "you get what you pay for", so bear with me and my reluctance.
Thx
Question about tick rates and stuff :/

No that price is completely valid and you are definitely getting what you are paying for in a good sense. After the 10% discount you would actually be getting the 24 slot server for $86.39 which is ~$3.6/slot, which is fair enough along with a 10 slot ventrilo server.Jumba wrote:Thinking about renting a public server 24 slot for TF2. Also you will be getting an even cheaper deal if you go with say Los Angeles (Value) instead of Premium although they are different...
As per the tickrate, it is automatically 100tick and the server will be running 250FPS by DEFAULT meaning you can lower it in case of stability.
I highly recommend getting a server from NFo, been with them for 3 years as of the 26th of this month...
If you do, my referrer ID is bnd
Just "bnd" because I wouldn't mind an extra 2 slots on my own server .

I would also highly recommend NFO. I've been with NFO servers for many years for my CS server and honestly... you won't find a better host.
